WATCH: Lauren Discusses Water on KRDO 13

Water continues to be a top priority for Lauren, who got the WWARR Act passed through the House Natural Resources Committee to allow water users to get out from the red tape and bureaucracy of the federal government ahead of schedule. Lauren is also pushing the bipartisan “Fish Bill” as the prime sponsor in the House, which would protect four endangered species of fish and 1,200 different water projects and users in the state.
 
Protecting this critical resource ensures prosperity for our ranchers, farmers, and entire 3rd District community for generations to come!

Visiting La Plata County

Lauren maintained an aggressive travel schedule through the 3rd District during the August recess, holding meetings with county commissioners and other leaders to discuss the issues facing their community. Lauren was able to secure $1.5 million in funding for a stoplight in Bayfield, a direct infrastructure improvement that will benefit the residents of La Plata County and improve their quality of life.

Ending Biden’s Work From Home Policies

In her role on the House Oversight Committee, Lauren is taking action to hold federal bureaucrats accountable and make sure they show up to work.
 
Despite the pandemic being declared over for months, many federal agencies are still allowing their employees to telework despite there being no evidence of elevated work performance and a significant lack of transparency over the amount of employees teleworking. Lauren believes that if your tax dollars are going to pay the salaries of bureaucrats, the least they can do is actually show up to work.

Lauren is getting noticed for her willingness to engage with voters at major community events like the Deltarado Days parade. This letter to the Delta County Independent talks about issues like fentanyl and protecting our freedom of speech, and how Lauren is taking immediate action and introducing thoughtful pieces of legislation to protect the rights of 3rd District residents.

Lauren made a trip to Mesa County to visit with the Mesa County Republican Men’s Club and catch up with our Mesa County Commissioners in Grand Junction. Lauren loved catching up with so many great 3rd District residents!

Changing the Rules in Congress

During her remarks at the Mesa County Republican Men’s Club, Lauren tied together her principled stand in January to change the rules of Congress and how that fight directly led to substantive results for the people of the 3rd District.
 
For example, with the reform of the earmark Lauren won as part of the Speaker nomination process, she was able to bring nearly $20 million in water and infrastructure project investment for specific 3rd District projects. That doesn’t happen without her standing up to the D.C. establishment and getting results back in January.
