Why is Scott Tipton Flipping Off Republican Delegates?

Rifle, Colorado - Five-term incumbent Representative Scott Tipton has filed petition signatures with the Colorado Secretary of State in an effort to bypass the Republican delegate and assembly process so he can have his name placed directly on the June 30th primary ballot. Mr. Tipton filed a petition form that was approved by the Secretary of State on January 20, 2020 and submitted signatures for approval on March 17, 2020.

In response to Mr. Tipton’s filings, Lauren Boebert issued the following statement:

“When I announced my run for Congress I promised to go through the delegate and assembly process to earn my way on to the ballot. I figured if I couldn’t earn the support of 30% of the delegates, then I had no business running for Congress. That is quite a contrast to Scott Tipton buying his way onto the ballot using paid signature gatherers. It couldn’t be more clear: Scott Tipton is flipping off Republican delegates because he knows I’m the true conservative Republican in this election, he knows I will win at assembly and he knows he can’t hide his record of voting alongside Nancy Pelosi to give millions of illegals amnesty. “

The Colorado Secretary of State has not yet issued a statement validating the signatures submitted by Representative Tipton’s campaign.
